The Role This is a hands-on Farm Hand position vital to the productive management of a 2,500-hectare mixed-farming enterprise in the Tarcombe district. The role offers diverse and rewarding work across both livestock management and general farm operations. You will work closely with the Farm Manager and will have shared responsibilities for day-to-day sheep and cattle operations, including essential duties such as mustering, drafting, yard work, and general animal husbandry. Beyond your livestock responsibilities, your other core responsibilities will include operating motorbikes and farm vehicles safely across varied and in places challenging terrain. Additionally, you will support the maintenance of fencing and water infrastructure, and general property upkeep. The Ideal Candidate We are actively seeking a reliable, keen, and genuinely enthusiastic self-starter with initiative who can work effectively both independently and as a valued member of a small team. Positive attitude; must be keen, reliable, and enthusiastic. Willingness to work as part of a small team and take direction from the Manager. Recent experience in sheep and cattle handling and animal husbandry. A current motorbike licence is essential for safely riding on farm conditions where some steep terrain prevails. Helpful, but not essential requirements include: Agricultural or other relevant qualifications. Ownership and/or experience working with trained working dogs. Mechanical skills, basic machinery maintenance, and chemical handling accreditation (e.g., ChemCert).
